About Department

Department of paediatric microbiology offers quality microbiological services in tertiary care paediatric hospital in diagnosing infectious diseases, thrust areas include bacteriology, serology, mycology and parasitololgy.

The department plays an important role in controlling and preventing nosocomial infections, key areas include detection of an outbreak of HAI, screening of multi resistant organism, advice to clinicians about disinfection, sterilization and isolation procedures. Department gets regularly involved in surveillances of OTs, PICU, NICU and other high risk areas.

We are involved in enhancing quality education and training to the hospital staff regarding infection control practice and heath care waste management. We are committed in academic activates including teaching of MBBS/MD students while exercising innovative pedagogy practice. Department also focuses to provide research opportunities to students, faculty as well as interdepartmental activities aiding various departments to complete their researches
