About Department

The Department of Clinical Hematology Super Speciality Hospital, Shireen Bagh, an associated hospital of GMC Srinagar was established in August 2018. This Department is a tertiary care referral Centre for the diagnosis and management of blood and bone marrow disorders like Anemias, Thrombosis, Hemophilia, other bleeding disorders like ITP, Aplastic Anemia and Malignant disorders like Myelodysplastic Neoplasms, Myeloproliferative Neoplasms, Acute Leukemias, Lymphoproliferative disorders, multiple myeloma, Bone marrow stem cell transplant etc.

The Department is currently running regular OPDs at Super Speciality Hospital in addition to day care facility for Chemotherapy, Blood transfusions, phelebotomies etc. Important to mention is the Consultations and surgical clearance services provided to the other Departments of GMC Srinagar.

The Department achieved a big milestone on 9/12/2022 by performing successfully first bone marrow stem cell transplant.
