Guest Lecture regarding "Evidence to policy through implementation research" delivered by Dr. Ashoo Grover, Scientist-G and Head Delivery Research Division,ICMR at GMC Srinagar

ICMR expert delivers lecture at GMC Srinagar Hailing the Department of Community Medicine GMC Srinagar for conducting such guest lectures, Dr. Iffat Hassan, Principal and Dean, Government Medical College Srinagar encouraged the faculty of GMC Srinagar to prioritise research and conduct studies which would be beneficial to the community.

The Department of Community Medicine, Government Medical College Srinagar organised an invited guest lecture on 'Evidence to policy through implementation research' which was delivered by Dr. Ashoo Grover, Scientist-G and Head Delivery Research Division, Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR).

The event was attended by faculty and resident doctors from various departments of GMC Srinagar and other medical colleges, Department of health research (ICMR, DHR, GoI) research scientists and staff from multi-disciplinary research unit (MRU), model rural health research unit (MRHRU PHC Khag) and field research staff of rATA of Community Medicine GMC Srinagar.

Hailing the Department of Community Medicine GMC Srinagar for conducting such guest lectures, Dr. Iffat Hassan, Principal and Dean, Government Medical College Srinagar encouraged the faculty of GMC Srinagar to prioritise research and conduct studies which would be beneficial to the community.

Dr. Ashoo Grover who is heading the division which sanctions extra mural research grants at ICMR deliberated on types of studies which ICMR encourages to support which includes research areas of 4Ds of descriptive, development, discovery and delivery. ICMR is providing four different types of extra mural research grants which includes small grants upto two crores, intermediate grants, central for advancement of research and national health research program. The guest lecture was coordinated by Dr. S. Muhammad Salim Khan, Professor and HOD Community Medicine GMC Srinagar.
