PMC Srinagar strengthens Examination Cell and Research Unit

In a bid to raise the bar on academic integrity and research, Government Medical College (GMC) Srinagar has given a fresh push to its Examination Cell (Secrecy Section) and Research Unit.

The initiative was formally launched by Principal & Dean, Prof. Dr. Iffat Hassan Shah, who was joined on the occasion by former Principal & Dean, Prof. Tanvir Masood, and Administrator Mr. Mohammad Ashraf Hakak.

A host of senior faculty and officers were also present, including Prof. Dr. Arshid Hussain, Prof. Dr. Naveed Nazir, Prof. Dr. Yasmeen Jabeen, Dr. Inaam, Dr. Ichkoot, and Mrs. Tahleela Asmat, among others.

Prof. Iffat Hassan Shah underlined the need for complete fairness and confidentiality in examinations, noting that “transparency and integrity are the foundation of any academic institution.” She added that the Research Unit would serve as a catalyst for innovative studies, evidence-based medical practices, and contributions to national and international scientific knowledge.

The presence of senior academicians and administrators lent weight to the occasion, reflecting GMC Srinagar’s collective resolve to strengthen its systems and culture of innovation.

With this step, GMC Srinagar has reaffirmed its commitment to excellence in both teaching and research, further consolidating its position as one of the leading medical institutions in the region.
