Department of Ophthalmology conducts a wet lab on Phacoemulsification for Senior Residents and Post Graduate Scholars
The Post Graduate Department of Ophthalmology, Government Medical College Srinagar, conducted a wet lab on Phacoemulsification in association with Johnson and Johnson from 5th
March to 7th March. The event was held under the patronage of Prof.(Dr.) Junaid S. Wani, HOD Ophthalmology, and Dr. Asif Jasmine Associate Professor coordinated the programme, the event was attended by all the Senior Residents and the 3rd year postgraduate students of the department.
Mr. Rahul Mishra was the demonstrator from Johnson and Johnson. The program was divided into two phases : An interactive one hour session was held by the demonstrator regarding the basics of phacodynamics and later the practical wet lab was held in the Operation Theatre of the Department where each and every participant was given the opportunity to test their skills on a surgical training cataract surgery simulation model.
The program concluded in three days and the participants gave their review after the end of their respective sessions. The students were content and grateful for being given the opportunity to polish their skills and were hopeful that such sessions would continue in the future also.
