About Us
The construction of college of nursing at Shireen Bagh Srinagar was basically part of the plan under Prime Minister’s Sawastha Suraksha Yojana (PMSSY) where under the institute of Traumatology and allied super specialities were approved to be constructed at Shireen Bagh Srinagar. Accordingly the college has been constructed at an estimated cost of Rs. 12.00 crore. The work has been executed through Jammu & Kashmir Projects Construction Corporation Limited and completed by the end of financial year 2011-2012. The college of Nursing running under the aegis of Government Medical College Srinagar is 1st nursing college in the public sector at the Government level with the sole motive of teaching the undergraduate 4years B.Sc. Nursing course, for addition to the specialized paramedical manpower. Besides, like other Nursing colleges within and outside the state, with the completion of the batch wise course, we may the faculty available for teaching to the trainees as per requirement in Govt. as well as semi govt. institutes offering the said 4 year under graduate course B.Sc. nursing course and AMT, ANMT schools of the state both in public and private sector offering the diploma in nursing and other paramedical courses. The 4 year B.SC nursing course at this college has been started from the session 2014-2015, with due approval/permission from:
- Approval from State Government granted vide Communication No: ME/NG-16/2011 Dated: 23-02-2011.
- Permission from Indian Nursing Council granted vide File No: 02-06-2013 Dated: 06-06-2013 with School Code-1403005 and Fee Code- 140958.
- NOC from State Nursing Council issued vide No: NC/GMC/SGR/GC.55 Dated: 21-04-2014.
- Affiliation granted by the university of Kashmir vide No: F(affiliation)/GMCNursing/DCDC/KU/14 Dated: 30-10-2014.
