• The department caters to a huge outpatient load and is the main tertiary referral centre in Kashmir valley for Dermatology, Venereology & Leprosy patients.
• The department has 13 sub-speciality clinics which are functional six days a week.
• The department has a 30 bedded ward (Ward 4) in SMHS hospital for IPD admissions
• The department has 2 well equipped labs in Block F where various investigations related to Dermatology, Venereology & Leprosy are carried out.
• The Department has a dermatosurgery theatre where Hair Transplantation, Platelet Rich Plasma Therapies, Vitiligo surgeries,  Nail Surgeries, Laser surgeries, skin biopsies, Electrocauterization & Radiofrequency surgeries & chemical peeling  are done on a regular basis.
• Facility of autologous noncultured epidermal cell suspension is present for vitiligo patients.
• Fractional CO2 Laser is present in the department which offers high end modernized treatment for all types of scars.
• Long pulsed Nd-Yag laser hair reduction for treatment of patients.
• Phototherapy services (Narrowband UVB therapy unit & Hand and Foot PUVA) for vitiligo and psoriasis patients.
• Iontophoresis is available in the department for the treatment of various hyperhidrotic disorders.
