Research activities

The faculty members, senior residents and PGs routinely carry out high-end research activities in the department which are published in many indexed national and international journals.

The post graduate programme has been going in the department from the last around 45 years. At present the department has around 13 post graduates thesis research projects in progress under the leadership of Dr Ruby Reshi, Dr Sheikh Bilal, Dr Lateef wani, Dr Mehnaaz Sultan khuroo, Dr Salma Bhat, Dr Sheema Sheikh who are further supported by other faculty members including Dr Roohi Wani, Dr Aadil Sidiqqie, Dr Gousia Rahim, Dr Nusrat Bashir, Dr Faheem, Dr Summaya Farooq, Dr Suhail Mushtaq and Dr Sabiha Ashraf.

The department has a vast collection of books in the library for the benefit of students, residents and faculty members.

The faculty members, senior residents and Postgraduate students regularly attend and present papers at the various CME’s, seminars, symposia, conferences along with poster presentation at various national and international forums.

Many members have also been part of observership programme at Roswell Cancer Institute, Buffalo, USA.

The department has organized various CME’s and has been a part of guest lectures including grand round presentations.
